Juanma is one of the founding partners of De la Peña & Bethencourt. He is also Co-Managing Partner and Head of Corporate, Real-Estate & Finance Departments of the Firm.

He has over 10 years of experience advising listed and non-listed national and international companies and sponsors, banks and funds on all kind of financing-related deals and matters.

Previously to joining the firm, Juanma worked as a Senior Associate at the Banking and Finance Department of Pérez Llorca. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Banking and Finance Departments of Ashurst and DLA Piper and undertook several secondments at Barclays and at ING.

Juanma holds a Law Degree from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and an Executive Master in International Business Law (Executive Master in International Business Law -LLM Programme-. Spanish and International Law), from the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Europeos de la Universidad CEU San Pablo y de la Escuela de Negocios CEU.
